Micayla Shafran is an influencer, singer-songwriter, and figure skater based in Miami. Born on February 13, 2002, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, she lived in Manhattan until 2007, when her family relocated to Kingston, NY. From a young age, Micayla showed a deep love for music, performance, and the arts.

 At just 12 years old, she gave her first public performance singing the National Anthem at a Renegades baseball game—an experience that sparked her passion for singing and led her to begin voice lessons shortly after.

During her years at Kingston High School, Micayla was a well-rounded and active student. She participated in choir, musical theatre, Science Olympiad, Key Club International, and varsity crew (rowing), all while excelling academically.

She went on to attend the University of Miami, majoring in Marine Affairs with minors in Ecosystem Science & Policy and Theatre Arts. Deeply committed to environmental conservation, Micayla became an active voice on campus. She facilitated Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) workshops in General Biology and Evolution & Biodiversity and worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Climate Resilience course. Her work extended beyond the classroom—she also joined the Marine Mammal Rescue Team and earned her Stranding Certification in Fall 2021.

After earning her Bachelor of Arts, Micayla began to focus more intently on her music and public presence. While continuing to work in the environmental field, she stepped into the spotlight as an entertainer. In June 2024, she made her runway debut at the Miami Fashion Music Conference (FMC) in Brickell, earning praise from the show's producer and receiving a callback to walk at the New York Fashion Music Conference that September.

Around the same time, Micayla began working with acclaimed producer Burt White, honing her songwriting craft and launching her first original music project. Her music draws from personal experiences, using emotion and storytelling to create connection and inspire listeners.

In addition to her work as a singer-songwriter and influencer, Micayla is also a passionate figure skater—a creative outlet that reflects her dedication to both discipline and artistic expression.  Whether she’s on stage, on the ice, or in the lab, Micayla is driven by a desire to uplift others and advocate for a better, more sustainable world.
